Off Campus Lunch Consent Form
To acknowledge our students’ independence and young adulthood, Mott Hall High School would like to offer juniors and seniors in good academic standing (passing ALL classes for the previous Marking Period) the opportunity to leave the building for lunch each day. This option would be exercised during their scheduled lunch period (12:00 PM - 12:45 PM) and require your consent. Mr. Geogerian or Mr. Rosa will also confirm your written consent by phone. Students can walk to nearby eateries if their food is received and eaten before the end of the period.
This is a privilege that can be revoked. Students cannot order food before 12:00 PM, which will interfere with their classes. If a student returns to the 4th floor from lunch after 12:45 pm, they will lose this privilege for the next five days. If the student is late a second time, the privilege will be revoked for the rest of the year or until BOTH the principal and the parent agree to reinstate it. The school may revoke this privilege if necessary, though parents would be informed should this occur.
Students must abide by the following:
- When leaving the school building for lunch, they will sign out and sign in before 12:40
- Return to the school building by 12:40 pm so they are present, on time, and ready to learn at the beginning of their 7th-period classes.
- Eat all of their food before the end of 6th period. They cannot eat food between 12:40 and 2:20 pm during their 7th and 8th-period classes. If they have food after 12:40 pm, the administration will hold it until 2:20 pm.
- Engage in appropriate, safe behaviors outside the building during their lunch period. They must follow all DOE regulations as required in the city-wide discipline code.
