School Uniform Information & Purchasing
1. Why We Wear It
Today's Scholars. Tomorrow's Leaders.
The Mott Hall uniform is more than clothing — it's a symbol. When you put on the green or black polo, you're wearing the strength of the Panther and the values of our seal: global awareness, curiosity, and collaboration.
This year, Mott Hall High School is embarking on a new chapter. Our uniform is part of that: a renewed commitment to a strong identity, a united student body, and real pride in who we are. Every student wearing the same colors sends one message — Mott Hall students are scholars and leaders, ready for success.
We are all in this together.
2. Our Expectations
Every Mott Hall student wears:
- A Green or Black polo shirt (school logo)
- Black or Khaki Pants/Skirts — Your own...pants and skirts must be appropriate length either finger tip length with arms down or just above the knees.
- Sneakers — your choice
That's it. We kept it simple on purpose, so every family can meet the standard without stress. Your sneakers, your style — the polo is the baseline we all share.
(Alternative options — crewnecks, quarter zips, cardigans— are also available for students easing into the new policy. See "School Swag" below.)
3. How We Support Each Other
Community is one of our core values, and that includes making sure every Mott Hall family can meet this standard with dignity.
- Loaner closet — Forgot your polo, or it's in the wash? Borrow one for the day, no questions asked. This is here for the occasional slip-up, not a daily plan.
- Financial assistance — If affording uniforms is a genuine, ongoing challenge, we have a private, confidential process. A quiet conversation with your counselor is all it takes — no one else will know.
- 1 Shirt to Start — Every student receives a single polo at orientation, with reduced pricing options available for those who come and many more oppurtunties to earn gear throughout the year.
The loaner closet keeps a forgetful morning from becoming a bad start to the day. But relying on it again and again isn't the standard we're setting — it's a sign something else needs attention. Students who lean on the loaner closet repeatedly will be referred through our discipline matrix like any other uniform issue. If the reason is financial, we'll quietly connect you to support instead — that's what the hardship process is for.
This isn't about punishment. It's about making sure every student can show up ready to represent Mott Hall — and that means showing up in their own uniform, not someone else's shirt every day.
4. Earn Your Gear — Group Identity
Beyond the everyday polo, Mott Hall students build identity through what they earn:
- Athletics — Team polo
- Honor Society — Embroidered polo or cardigan
- Cyber / Future Ready — Program polo or sweater
- Student Government — Distinctive pullover or polo
- Arts & Performing Arts — black performance shirt
These pieces mean something. They're not required — they're earned through participation, leadership, and achievement. Wearing them is a badge of pride and belonging, just like wearing the Panther.
5. What This Looks Like Day to Day
Every morning, students scan in as usual. It's quick, it's consistent, and it's the same for everyone — no confrontations, no singling anyone out. If something's missing, staff will point you to the loaner closet and you're on your way.
We're building a culture where wearing Mott Hall colors is just what we do — not something to think twice about.
